**GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:**
The Project Management Office, under Mass General Brigham (MGB) Innovations,
manages a portfolio of industry-sponsored development projects across a number
of research groups within the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Brigham
and Woman's Hospital (BWH). These forward-thinking projects aim to transform
clinical medicine through data science, specifically via the use of machine
learning and informatics approaches.
Acting under the supervision of the Director of Product and Program Management
and a designated Product Manager, the Product Manager for Clinical AI
Applications will be responsible for defining and driving product strategy for
data science and artificial intelligence solutions aimed at the healthcare
market. PMs will lead and coordinate cross functional projects teams of data
scientists, software engineers and clinical experts to create cutting edge
clinical software products.
Product Managers will be working in a sophisticated and complex environment,
engaging and liaising between scientists, clinicians, administrative staff and
development teams.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**
Define, plan and execute product strategy for industry-sponsored data science
and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions within healthcare and clinical
medicine
Understand the healthcare AI ecosystem, markets, product landscape and user
requirements in depth
Collaborate with physicians to identify high-value opportunities in a variety
of clinical specialities including medical imaging, pathology, population
health, and many others.
Lead product design and development for innovative solutions to difficult
clinical problems
Work collaboratively with data scientists, software engineers, infrastructure
and high-performance computing experts and business development in cross-
functional teams on cutting edge technologies
Adhere to and support a quality management system (QMS)
Develop and execute mitigation plans for important risks and communicate risks
clearly and quickly to senior leadership
Support technical and project team by offering subject matter expertise as
needed
Prepare and report on the status of model development including analysis of
data acquired during the course of clinical investigation
Lead critical client-facing interactions (e.g. develop and deliver
presentations to senior leadership to report upon delivery of project
milestones)
Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
Advanced degree required e.g. Master's or above; Medical degree preferred,
however other experienced healthcare professionals may be considered
Three or more years of relevant work experience (e.g. commercial product
development, life science or management consulting, or similar) required.
Healthcare setting preferred.
Experience with medical terminology and clinical workflows, including medical
imaging diagnostics, pathology, and clinical laboratory medicine required
Experience with data analysis, data science, machine learning, deep learning
and database software strongly preferred
Comfort with basic statistics and proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is
required
Experience with project management methodologies, concepts and tools including
use of quality management systems, project management tracking systems (e.g.
Wrike, Confluence, Jira, MS Project, etc) strongly preferred
Experience in software development, medical device development or healthcare
focused project management is preferred
**Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:**
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross
functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization including
both technical and non-technical personnel
Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills
Self-motivated, independent and possesses the ability to learn quickly
Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different
skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization
Excellent project management skills (ability to multitask and prioritize work
requirements)
Strong sense of commitment and pro-activeness- ability to manage and drive
work and agenda independently, and source input from manager and team as
needed
Strong, planning, organization and time management skills
High attention to detail and understanding of end-to-end processes
Ability to effectively conduct meetings, both formal and informal
Ability to lead and facilitate large working sessions with all levels of staff
Ability to thrive in and adapt to a changing environment
